What is a DevFest?

We've just turned a year old, and we're celebrating with a DevFest!

DevFests are large, community-run events that can offer speaker sessions across product areas, all-day hack-a-thons, code labs, and more. Each GDG DevFest will be inspired by, and uniquely tailored to, the needs of the hosting developer community.

Here, developers will be able to interact with Google engineers and local developers who work on the products and ask them questions.The engineers will also talk about the latest and greatest from Google, with best practices on how to improve the quality of web and mobile apps.

While no two events are exactly alike, each GDG DevFest will, at its core, be powered by a shared belief that when developers come together to exchange ideas, amazing things can happen.

Target audience for DevFest Bacolod are:
  • web and mobile developers of all skill levels building applications using Google technologies;
  • members of the academic community interested in learning how to collaborate online using Google Apps and create global classrooms with YouTube;
  • business owners and content publishers interested in learning how Google and the Google Business Group can help boost site traffic and market businesses effectively online.
Clear up your schedules on cinco de Noviembre! We'll be firing up the registration page starting next week, so stay tuned.

To get updates on GDG Bacolod, you can check out our chapter site, subscribe to the mailing list, or add us up on Google+, Twitter, and Facebook.
